The inspiration for my work comes directly from the rocky coastline of Co Cork, Ireland, where I grew up and now live. I have always had a fascination for rock formations, and the evidence of changes and shifts of the earth though millions of years.  I feel a strong connection to these shapes which mould the coastline around me. They merge with buildings and landmarks and bring context to my past memories.  My work is about exploring emotions and memories which are evoked by these places from my life. My latest work explores childhood memories of trips to “The Merries” in Crosshaven . I hope my paintings remind the viewer of their own childhood memories and will evoke in their minds a sense of fun and nostalgia .
